Social media is in turmoil following breaking news that Ghanaian TikTok influencer, GhKobby, has allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend, known by many as YaaBaby, under suspicious and tragic circumstances.
The heartbreaking incident is said to have happened on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in a suburb of Yeji in the Bono East Region.
According to a report aired on Adom FM, GhKobby wasn’t alone during the visit. He was reportedly accompanied by two other young men and YaaBaby in an unregistered vehicle.
The group’s presence initially appeared to be nothing more than a casual visit, especially as one of the men had previously completed his national service in the area.
The locals warmly received them and even offered them a meal at the home where the former national service member once lived.
However, what began as a peaceful visit soon turned into a nightmare.
The turning point came when one of the young men allegedly returned to their vehicle and retrieved a firearm. Eyewitnesses say the weapon was visibly loaded in front of others.
Before anyone could comprehend the gravity of the situation, a gunshot echoed through the area, leaving 21-year-old YaaBaby lifeless.
Word of the shooting quickly spread throughout the town and surrounding communities. Residents, furious and heartbroken, mobilized and intercepted the young men as they allegedly attempted to flee the scene.
Suspecting the act may have been linked to ritual motives, some angry youth reportedly took the law into their own hands, subjecting the suspects to physical assault before the police arrived to take control of the situation.
GhKobby and his two companions were eventually rescued by officers and are currently in custody as investigations continue.
The tragic death of YaaBaby has left a cloud of sorrow over Yeji and sparked nationwide outrage, with many calling for a thorough investigation and swift justice.
